One of the finest books I have had the pleasure of reading. Ms. Symonds captures each character with the depth and richness few authors have had the gift to put forth in actual words. It was INCREDIBLY difficult to put down. I found myself stealing moments here and there, throughout my day simply to read and enjoy another page. What a wonderful read. I would HIGHLY recommend this book to anyone. Bravo !!!

***** You won't want the story to end...., March 30, 2007

Excellent story. Georgette does a wonderful job at getting the reader to really care about the people. I didn't want the story to end. I passed it on to my family and they loved it too!

***** A great book for all...young and old!! February 2, 2007
Lawrence Bertoli "Clare Bertoli" (New York)

Thisbook was by far one of the best I have read in a long time. I put it right up there with Mary Higgins Clark. Once you start reading it, its hard to put down, you want to keep on reading. It makes you laugh and it makes you cry. It touchs all your emotions. Georgette has done a fabulous job. I look forward to a sequel, hopefully continuing with some of the same characters.

Great reading...The Bertoli's

***** Wonderful read, January 19, 2007
Susan LaMonica (Oceanside, New York USA)
This is a beautiful story that is told in such a way you feel apart of it. As I was reading, I had to keep reminding myself that this was not a memoir but a work of fiction. I became emotionally attached to all the characters. It is a wonderful book to share with a book club. I highly reccomend this to anyone who enjoys a good read.

Am an old acquainntance of a friend of yours and heard about your book. Since I am an avid reader, I got a copy of "Look Not Upon Our Sins", more from curiosity of "almost knowing the author". I can't tell you how enjoyable your story was and what a pleasure to follow your style of writing. You should be soo proud. Thanks again for all those hours of enjoyment. Agnes B.

*****You won't be disappointed

This book is terrific- It follows complex characters through the joys and struggles of life. After reading “Look Not Upon Our Sins,” I felt educated on the situations many Irish Americans experienced during the emigration process. Engaging, informative, and overall enjoyable...A must read for all!

Hi Georgette, I just finished reading the book. I truly, truly loved it-I couldn't put it down, in fact ! Over the last few years, I'd not had the patience to sit down and simply enjoy a good story. My sister, who loves to read, has told me in the past, "you just haven't found the book that'll transform you into a reader yet"... Well, your story did it to me ! I even brought the book to work with me and read it between patients ! It was a lovely story and truly a joy to read. Rosalie B.
PS-Will there be a sequel?

Wow...loved it!, October 30, 2006

Look Not Upon Our Sins should be on everyone's "must have" list. The story was so intricate and multi-faceted, I had difficulty putting it down! Although this novel is based on an Irish family.....it could be anyone's story. I loved Ms. Symonds writing style and look forward to her next work.

A new voice with a compelling story, October 29, 2006

***** UNA WARDE (New York)

This is a remarkable new novel about human hope and family entanglements.
It reaches back in time to Ireland and the journey of Bridget and her three daughters to life in Brooklyn, New York of the 1920s. Authentic, well researched descriptions of places make the reading all the more enjoyable. The characters come to life with each turn of the page.
As a native of the West of Ireland, I am happy to have this author join my other favorite Irish writers on my book shelf.

Look Not Upon Our Sins, October 20, 2006

***** ToniAnn Conlon (Long Island, New York)

LOOK NOT UPON OUR SINS- When the author gave the title to this book, she was not kidding. I read it in less than 3 days, and that is with working, kids and a house to care for. All of Ms. Symond's characters are equally intense and make you feel many different emotions through out the book. There where times I even held my breath in anticipation of what would happen next. Ms. Symonds book is a real page turner, one that everyone will enjoy. Go get your copy today.

I LOVVEEDDD!!!your book. I love to read but never do because I know once i pick up something that is good reading, I can't seem to put it down. I read your book in d days. It's the kind of book I love and hate at the same time. I love it because it's so interesting and a real page turner. I hate it for the same reason-it's so interesting and a real page turner and I can't put it down! I can't do anything else! I don't want to do wash or clean or go to the bathroom- I keep reading and saying to myself-"just one more page"or, just one more chapter-then I'll put it down". But it kills me to have to put it down. Your book just flows and I can't wait to read the next line and the next and the next... One chapter would be all about one family and then at the end you would mention something about a relative or some event from the past and then I would know I had to read further to see how you would weave this person or event into the story and tie everything together. Georgette- it was truly wonderful and the first book I've read in YEARS! It was worth the wait. S. Mary
