Georgette Symonds was raised in an Irish Catholic family in Brooklyn, New York. Growing up in an apartment building in Brooklyn was like living in the United Nations. Each apartment had a family of a different culture. Aromas would fill the building; Italian sauce simmering on a stove, Polish kielbasa tempting the pallet, or her mother’s rice pudding calling her name. She is proud to be a Brooklynite.
She spent the first twelve years of her education in the parochial school system. Following a career in nursing and raising a family Georgette went on to volunteer for the police department in the Criminal Investigations Unit. Utilizing her knowledge of spiritual and emotional conflict she became a published author. Having always had a passion to write she gets great joy out of bringing her characters to life for the reader to get to know and spend time with.
Her first published work was The Good Night Kiss in the Chicken Soup of Every Mom’s Soul. She then wrote, Look Not Upon Our Sins and The Decision. She is excited about the release of her newest novel, Bless Me Father.
Georgette is a member of the International Women’s Writing Guild, Sister’s in Crime and is a Goodreads Author. She has been featured on the television show For the Record. She has also been on radio shows, Tony Jackson Irish Country and New York’s KJOY98.3-FM Jim &Kim Morning Show. Her books have sold internationally.
